Adaptive re-use and revitalisation of the Campbell’s Stores, at 7-27 Circular Quay West, The Rocks

Hawes and Swan Planning provided a detailed town plan review on a State Significant Development which proposed the remediation, renewal, adaptive re-use and revitalisation of Campbell’s Stores located in Circular Quay. Specifically, the development proposed adaptive re-use of the building for restaurants, cafes, bars and retail uses to encourage public access to the Campbell’s Stores and the construction of a new contemporary building with a glass block façade.

The primary role of Hawes and Swan Planning was to peer review the impacts of the proposed development on Park Hyatt Hotel, specifically the new glass structure. This involved a detailed review of the Environmental Impact Statement, Visual Impact Statement and Heritage Impact Statement and the formulation of an independent assessment of the impacts of the proposed works on Park Hyatt from both a visual and noise perspective.
